A number and a diary, and nothing else to fill in
The phone is the quick route: say what the freezer is doing and you will hear what gets checked first, before anyone drives out. The online diary takes about a minute and lands in exactly the same place.
- Out 8:00 am – 8:00 pm, seven days; picked up 24/7
- $89 buys the trip and the whole diagnosis, then comes off the repair
- Freezer columns, side-by-side freezer sections and freezer drawers
- No email address and no contact form: the phone or the diary
What happens after you ring
- 01
You describe it, and get asked the awkward questions
Which compartment, what the panel claims, what a thermometer inside says, whether any fan is audible, and when the ice was last cleared. A surprising amount of the diagnosis is settled by those answers.
Arriving with the fault already named saves most of that — the freezer problem glossary defines each one in a sentence.
- 02
What gets read, and what it is likely to cost
Before anyone drives out you hear which circuit the symptom points at, the order it will be read in, and the price band that kind of repair usually sits in. Nothing is opened past the diagnosis until you have said yes to a figure.
What the flat fee buys, step by step, is set out on the service call and diagnosis page.
- 03
Readings, then one figure
A logged temperature and meter readings before any opinion. Then the fault, the part, the band it sits in and a single total, in plain words, before the tools go further.
Every band is broken down job by job on the repair cost pages.

The repair, and the kitchen put back
The parts a freezer fault usually needs — a fan motor, a defrost heater, a sensor, a seal — ride on the van rather than going on order. The coil is thawed properly before the rear panel goes back, and a cabinet front returns exactly as the installer left it.

The unit sits in a hot pass-through off the kitchen and tripped its high temperature warning every afternoon. A remodel had left the toe kick blocking airflow at the base. Trimmed back, cleaned, no more warnings.

During the first big heat wave in July the fresh food side sat in the high fifties while the freezer stayed rock solid. I was ready to be told it was finished. A seized fresh food fan, replaced from the van, cold by lunch.

Ours lives outside by the pool and had dropped to a trickle of hollow cubes. He measured the fill and found the valve strainer choked with grit. Cleared it, and the bin was full overnight.
