Not cold enough, or lying about being cold
Two complaints arrive sounding the same, and they are not. In the first, the compartment really does sit above where it should and everything in it softens; the meter finds that behind the rear panel. In the second, the freezer is doing its job and the number on the front has drifted away from it.
Only one of those is calibration, and separating them is most of what the first visit does.
What one overnight reading settles
A probe left in the compartment through the night is worth more than any amount of standing in front of the cabinet, because a freezer opened repeatedly cannot be measured. The morning comparison either shows a gap or it does not.
Where there is a gap, the correction follows the control: some accept an offset and the reading is brought back into line without a part, others do not and the sensing element is replaced instead. Both sit in one band, which is why this page and the sensor page print the same range.

Can I calibrate the freezer myself from the control panel?
No. The panel can be set to a colder number, which is a different thing entirely: it changes the target, not the reading the control believes it is hitting. Correcting the gap between the two needs a reference probe and access the front of the cabinet does not give you.
How do I know it is calibration and not a cooling fault?
Leave a thermometer in the compartment overnight and compare it with the panel in the morning. Agreement means the freezer genuinely is not cold enough and the fault is mechanical.
