How it arrives on the phone

An ice machine is plumbing, a small refrigeration circuit and a timer in one cabinet. Hollow cubes, no cubes and a bin welded into one lump are three different faults with three different fixes, and the cubes themselves say which.
Reading the cubes first
- 01
Nothing forming at all
Water before anything else: the inlet valve, the supply and the filter. Then the module, then whether the plate is getting cold. A good half of these are a valve or a starved line.

Hollow, small or cloudy cubes
The freeze cycle is being cut short, or water is not running over the whole plate. Pump, plate condition and cycle timing, in that order, with hard-water scale the usual culprit here.

Cubes fused, or water underneath
Fused ice is a harvest or a warm bin. Water on the floor is a drain, a pump seal or an inlet fitting, and it never starts where it pools.
Where a machine is scaled rather than broken, a clean and a descale is the whole repair and you will be told that instead of sold a pump.
